Life is hard. As a therapist, I am often reminded that life is not without its stresses for everyone. Yet life should be less struggling and more living. Most of the time with a little help from our family and friends we can cope reasonably well with life’s ups and downs.  Sometimes, however, life can feel too much and be overwhelming, and in these kinds of situations it can be useful to talk to someone.

That’s where I can come in. My name is Ben. I am a counsellor-coach based in London, working in-person and online. I work with people who might be experiencing anxiety, depression, identity issues, lacking meaning and purpose, life transitions, low self-esteem, relationship problems, stress, work-life balance – among other challenges.

It’s ok to be stuck at times; stuckness is part of life. It can be difficult to know what to do. Self-awareness is a good starting point. Counselling can facilitate the development of self-awareness. Self-awareness is about learning to better understand why you feel what you feel and why you behave in a particular way. With greater self-awareness, how you approach your life, how you approach each day can become a choice. Equally there is a boldness in taking action. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you do, just so long as you do something.

I aim to support people to change and make choices. So, make a choice to take a chance if you want your life to change.
